Our Story
I’m an explorer… or perhaps have commitment issues… But I like explorer better! I’ve dabbled with painting, quilting, card-making, weaving, knitting, crocheting, and designing… My hubby ‘loves’ to hear the words “I’m taking a class in …” ; But the more I learn, the older I get! And the more fabric I buy, I “seam” (pun intended lol!) to keep coming back to the needle and thread. The literal and figurative connections that fabric and thread make, the comfort, the creativity, all contribute to my passion. My hands and machine can never keep up with my brain!
While my favourite things to make are memory quilts and baby quilts, you’ll often see the tag #RogueQuilter on my pages. That’s because I love to create custom works and I don’t love following the rules (no quilt police here!).

My name is Kimya and I’m your friendly neighbourhood textile artist… If you’re in Ottawa at least! Hors d’Ottawa? Nous pouvons toujours rester amis, j’aime n’importe quel excuse pour voyager.
I love all the artsy things like the crackle of a new notebook and the scratchy sound of the markers across the paper as ideas comes to life. The colours and feel of fabric as you envision what and all they could become. The way different music makes the body sway in your own way.
On a personal note, I’m a mom of three, a wife, a daughter, a bestie, an educator and a lover of a good prosecco or crémant! With so many hats to wear, I am also adding entrepreneur to the mix with the launch of Kon Korazon Designs.
